Safety Check on Tips Replacement – The Offset Handle Walking Cane
Amazon.ca : offset handle cane replacement tips
If the offset cane is a single-stick cane, replacement cane tips can be bought for them. Some four-point cane tips can be used on these canes to give them the same functionality as a quad-base cane and make them self-standing.
It is recommended that cane tips should be regularly replaced. To do so, it is important to verify measurements of both the tip and the base of the cane.
Ensure that the hole in the tip is the same diameter as the actual walking cane’s base itself. This is a safety check to confirm that the tip will not slip off the cane, but will maintain a tight, secure grip.
Recommended Users for the Offset Handle Walking Cane
Choosing the proper grip is a key consideration when buying a walking cane. Offset handle canes are specially designed to offer a more ergonomic grip than crook handle canes.
This is because many offset models have a curve in the handle which is like that of a crook cane though on an offset cane, it is not a complete hook.
Offset canes allow users to center their weight and enable them to take pressure off their hands and wrists.
Persons with arthritis, or hand problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome will find that offset handle canes may be a better option than other models, regardless of design.
For the sake of safety and comfort, it is never a good idea to make choice based on aesthetics.

Hi Ceci. Thanks a lot for another comprehensive review. I like that you mentioned that the cranes should fulfil its purpose regardless of its design. Even tough it might be issue if younger people who would fell for design, it’s good to mention that. I like the Ergocan 2G as it comes with pretty simplistic design and yet the functionality is great. Especially the telescopic body. One question :you said that’s those cranes are suited for people with hands arthritis. People wit knee problems should look elsewhere ?
Hi Julius,
Thanks for the read and comment. People who do not have arthritis can certainly use these canes. It is just that offset handle canes are more ergonomically suited for use by those with arthritis as opposed to other designs
Thanks, Ceci.
